Sea Turtle ConservancyIt is the mission of the Sea Turtle Conservancy, formerly known as the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, to ensure the survival of sea turtles within the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific through research, education, training, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend. STC is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Florida with offices and projects in several other locations. STC is the oldest sea turtle organization in the world. Since its founding in 1959, STC's work has greatly improved the survival outlook for several species of sea turtles

The initial business model revolved around the idea that a user could make money by selling his or her music collection to other individuals online. This model has since been abandoned in favor of music streaming rather than sales.

WWF Guianas

WWFWWF Guianas is a program office that is a part of the WWF global network. They operate in the Guianas, with our head office located in Suriname. We have 2 satellite offices, one in Guyana and the other in French Guiana. Situated in the north-eastern part of South America, the area known as the Guianas is made up of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The Guianas have their borders with Brazil and are part of the wider Amazon region.

Sea Turtle License Plate

Sea Turtle License PlateIn 1997, the State of Florida authorized the creation of the Sea Turtle License Plate to promote the conservation and protection of Florida's sea turtles. Today, the Sea Turtle License Plate is one of the most popular specialty plates in Florida, raising over $1 million annually. Approximately 70% of the funding generated by sales of the tag goes to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Marine Turtle Protection Program to support research and management activities related to sea turtles. Approximately 30% is distributed to the Sea Turtle Grants Program which distributes funds each year to support sea turtle research, conservation and education programs that benefit Florida sea turtles. The Sea Turtle Grants Program is administered by the non-profit Sea Turtle Conservancy.

University of Central Florida Sea Turtle Research Program

University of Central Florida Sea Turtle Research ProgramThe Marine Turtle Research Group is a group of UCF professional scientists and student volunteers dedicated to undertaking fundamental and applied research on marine turtles whilst supporting local capacity building and environmental awareness efforts necessary for successful conservation. Led by biology professor Llew Ehrhart, the group of UCF graduate and undergraduate students study sea turtles along the Atlantic shores as the females return to the beach to nest and juvenile green turtles gather in the nearby Indian River Lagoon.

Departamento de Recursos Naturales y AmbientalesDepartamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales works to protect, conserve and administer the natural and environmental resources of Puerto Rico in a balanced way to guarantee the next generation will benefit from our natural resources and have a better quality of life. DRNA does this through a healthy atmosphere that promotes sustainable use of the natural resources and transformations the environmental culture of Puerto Ricans towards conservation.

Nevis Turtle Group

Nevis Turtle GroupThe Nevis Turtle Group (NTG) is dedicated to the development of a Sea Turtle Conservation Program for Nevis that involves local communities, and ensure that sea turtles will be there for the use of present and future generations. NTG was formed in 2003 by Lemuel Pemberton. Once formed, NTG gathered together a number of concerned volunteers to help monitoring the nesting beaches on Nevis. NTG volunteers work at night on beaches around Nevis to tag sea turtles and collect information about the nesting and movement of Nevis' sea turtles. Additional information, such as levels of nest predation and poaching are collected during morning surveys. NTG also gives presentations about sea turtles at lcoal schools and works to involve children in sea turtle related activities.

Amigos Tortugas Marinas

Amigos Tortugas MarinasAmigos Tortugas Marinas oversees the Conservation of Marine Turtles Program at Maunabo, Puerto Rico. The program is run by volunteers and supervised by the Sea Grant Program. The volunteers patrol the beaches along the south-east coast of Puerto Rico during the sea turtle nesting season in search of leatherback and hawksbill sea turtles.
