My name is "Nohea," which means pretty or lovely in Hawaiian. I'm an adult female loggerhead sea turtle encountered nesting on May 20, 2010 in the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, Florida. I measured 98.2 cm in curved carapace (shell) length.

A satellite transmitter was applied to my shell after I finished nesting. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim.

I'm being sponsored by Shark Reef Aquarium. I'm swimming to raise awarness about the threat of Commercial Fisheries - Longline to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!

Nohea was named by Haley Garl. Haley says, "Nohea means pretty or lovely in Hawaiian." And truly to sea turtle lovers everywhere, there are few things more lovely than these magnificent creatures.
