My name is "Iridessa." I'm an adult female loggerhead sea turtle encountered nesting on July 30, 2010 south of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, Florida. I measured 93.1 cm in curved carapace (shell) length.
A satellite transmitter was applied to my shell after I finished nesting. You can view a slideshow of the attachment and release the next morning from Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim.
I'm being sponsored by "Team Disney." which includes Disney's Animal Programs and Disney's Vero Beach Resort. I'm swimming to raise awarness about the threat of Coastal Development - Light Pollution, to nesting females and especially to emerging hatchlings. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
