My name is "Luna." I'm an adult female leatherback sea turtle encountered nesting on May 31, 2009, in Zone 6 on Chiriquí Beach in Panama. I am 157 cm in curved carapace (shell) length, so I'm larger than average for a female leatherback that nests on Chiriquí Beach. I was first observered by CCC researchers nesting in 2003.

A harness with a satellite transmitter was applied to me after I finished nesting. You can watch my release video filmed using infrared lights and a night vision camera. Check out my marathon migration map where you can follow along as I swim.

I'm being sponsored by Casa Tortuga and I'm swimming to raise awarness about the threat of Invasive Species Predation to sea turtle eggs and hatchlings. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
