My name is "Chica." I'm an adult female green sea turtle encountered nesting on July 20, 2009, on the beach in the Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica. I measure 107.5 cm in curved carapace (shell) length.
A satellite transmitter was applied to my shell after I finished nesting in beach zone 2 4/8. You can watch when I was released the next morning. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim.
I'm being sponsored by Caribbean Conservation Corporation. I'm swimming to raise awarness about the threat of Climate Change - Sea Level & Temperature Rise to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
